How often should I attend for a dental check-up?

For most patients, we recommend examinations every six months. However, your dentist will advise a personalised interval based on your oral health needs.

Do you accept new patients?

Yes, we welcome new patients on a private basis and offer monthly care plan options to help spread the cost of routine treatment.

What happens at a routine examination?

Your dentist will assess your teeth, gums and soft tissues, check for signs of decay or gum disease, review any X-rays if required and discuss any concerns you may have. We often take clinical photos of your teeth and where needed 3D scans to allow us to monitor your teeth and discuss your treatment options.

What if I haven’t seen a dentist in a while?

You are very welcome. We provide a calm, non-judgemental environment and will simply focus on helping you move forward with a clear and manageable plan.

I feel nervous about visiting the dentist. Can you help?

Yes, absolutely. We understand that dental visits can feel daunting for some patients, particularly if you have had a difficult experience in the past. Our team takes a calm, unhurried approach, allowing plenty of time to talk through your concerns and explain everything clearly. You are always in control of your appointment, and we will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

You should contact us immediately if you experience:

Severe or persistent toothache
Facial swelling
Dental trauma or a knocked-out tooth
Uncontrolled bleeding
A broken tooth causing pain
Signs of infection

Even if you are unsure whether your situation counts as an emergency, we encourage you to call. Our team can advise you appropriately and arrange an urgent appointment if needed.

When to contact us urgently

We reserve time each day for emergency cases. When you call, our reception team will gather some brief details and aim to book you in as soon as possible.

Your emergency visit will focus on diagnosing the cause of the problem, relieving pain and stabilising the situation. If further treatment is required, we will discuss this clearly with you before proceeding.

Same-day emergency appointments

If you require urgent dental advice outside of our normal opening hours:

You may leave a message on our answering machine and we will respond when the practice reopens.

If your problem is urgent — for example following trauma, uncontrolled swelling or significant bleeding — the answering machine will provide the contact number for the dentist on call. They will advise you on the best course of action. Please note that you may not be speaking to your usual dentist.
